Our engine test facility is dedicated to testing speedway type engines only . The Schenck brake is tooth belt driven from the engine,a set up that we think is better than traditional shaft drives.The belt drive insulates the dyno from the harsh torsional vibrations you get with single cylinder engines.The brake runs at half engine speed (torque display multiplied by 2) which gives us a rev ceiling of 26000 on this type of dyno!! No we don't go this high, but it means we have no rev restrictions on our tests although we don't test higher than 11500 (far less than most of the boys do on the start line!!)
With inputs from the weather station in to our software program we generate corrected torque & power graphs.With the wideband o2 sensor hooked up we generate an air / fuel ratio graph.The lamda device tells us EXACTLY what jets are required to make the best power.
